Privacy Policy

This notice explains how Louisiana Residents Directory handles information from a reader. The reference pages require no account, and the site does not keep a copy of the search terms entered into the sponsored search tools. Routine hosting data and messages sent by a reader are handled as described below. The Louisiana records linked from these pages remain with their own custodians, whose policies control any information submitted to them.

Information You Send

A name, phone number, or address typed into a search form is sent to the outside provider that returns sponsored results; our servers do not save a copy of that search. If you contact us, we receive the details in your message and use them to answer it.

Routine Server Details

The hosting service records standard log data such as an IP address, browser type, pages opened, and time stamps. We review grouped totals to maintain the site and understand which topics readers visit. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar tools where those apply.

How We Use the Data

We use the information above to run the reference pages, find technical faults, measure traffic, and make the material clearer. Visitor lists are not sold, and we do not make a profile for each reader.

External Portals and Links

These pages point to Louisiana parish and state record systems, libraries, archives, and outside search providers. Once you follow a link or send information to one of those services, its own privacy notice applies. Sponsored search results come from an outside company.

Service Providers and Disclosure

Companies that host or support the site may handle server logs. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the routine technical data described above. We share information when a valid legal demand requires disclosure.

Security and Retention

Connections to the site are encrypted, and server logs are kept only while needed for the uses described here. Because readers do not create accounts, the site does not hold their passwords or account profiles.

Readers Younger Than 18

These reference pages are intended for adults, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has sent such information, and we will remove it.

Privacy Rights in Louisiana

The Louisiana Data Privacy Act, La. R.S. 51:1780.1–1780.5, is scheduled to take effect January 1, 2027. Whether a particular data controller is covered depends on the law’s definitions, thresholds, and exemptions; this reference does not claim rights beyond those that apply. We retain little reader information, so a request can usually be checked against the contact mailbox and server logs. Send a question through the Contact page. Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. Title 44, governs access to records held by public bodies; it does not give this private reference control over parish, state, or city records. Ask the relevant custodian about changing or withholding a public record. The enrolled Louisiana Data Privacy Act sets out the state’s new consumer-data statute.

Policy Updates

We will post a revised notice here when the policy changes. Use of the pages after an update means you accept the revised terms.
