Louisiana Residents Directory is not an agency or record keeper. It cannot retrieve or certify a file, verify who lives at an address, or change a public roll. Send a request to the Louisiana office that holds the record. Call 911 in an emergency. For stalking or harassment, contact local law enforcement.

These routes lead to the Louisiana pages and custodians that handle common record questions:
- Street or parcel records: start with the Louisiana by-street directory and the assessor or Clerk of Court for the parish.
- Printed volumes and older addresses: use the Louisiana city directory collections page.
- One person and separate official records: use the Louisiana resident lookup workflow.
- Statewide and parish office routes: see the Louisiana records-office list.
- A record that is not online: ask the custodian about a Louisiana Public Records Law request under La. R.S. Title 44.
